BOCA RATON, Fla. — DNA Beverage Corp.’s line of meat snacks is now being offered at CVS drug stores in Louisiana and Mississippi.
DNA said Thursday that its Grass Roots Beverage unit is distributing DNA Meat Snacks at all CVS stores in Louisiana and in parts of Mississippi. The products are being marketed as part of the New Orleans Hornets Sixth Man Fan promotion.
The company’s meat snack products include DNA Beef Jerky, which comes in original and teriyaki flavors, and DNA Shred Stix, which is available in original, pizza and spicy jalapeno varieties.
"Our commitment to building the DNA brand name and supporting our customers/partners, relies heavily on the unique marketing programs we are able to offer. Partnering with CVS for prime product placement and with the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets and its fan base for increased awareness are examples of how we continue to support our brand," Russ Rickon, national sales vice president of DNA Beverage, said in a statement.
Rickon noted that the CVS/New Orleans Hornet program comes on the heels of a similar program under way in Orlando, Fla., with Walgreens and the NBA’s Orlando Magic.
"These localized initiatives are part of an overall national strategy to build brand awareness that includes major support of the action sports community, where we compete at the highest level with the best in motocross, surf, wakeboard and skateboard," commented Rickon.
Boca Raton-based DNA Beverage is the maker of the DNA Energy Drink, which also is targeted at the action sports community.
