Dollar General launches weeklong ‘7 Days of Savings’ event ahead of spring cleaning season

Daily offers pair with DG’s everyday value initiatives, including $1 Value Valley finds, to make Spring refresh more affordable.

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. — Dollar General is rolling out a weeklong promotional campaign aimed at helping shoppers stock up on household cleaning and organization essentials as the spring cleaning season approaches.

The retailer announced its “7 Days of Savings” cleaning event, scheduled for March 15–21, featuring a rotating series of limited-time deals across cleaning products, home care items and household staples.

The promotion underscores Dollar General’s continued focus on value-driven merchandising as consumers remain price conscious while maintaining spending on everyday necessities.

“With spring cleaning season approaching, our goal is to make it easier and more affordable for our customers to refresh their homes,” said Jenny O’Neill, vice president and division merchandise manager of cleaning, paper and pet at Dollar General. “From great weekly deals to everyday savings through the $1 Value Valley and DG App, we are committed to offering value and convenience every step of the way.”

Daily promotions spotlight cleaning essentials

The event will feature a different deal each day across a mix of national brands and Dollar General’s private-label products.

The week begins Sunday, March 15, with Clorox Scentiva Lavender Jasmine bleach (81 oz.) priced at $4.45. On Monday, March 16, shoppers can purchase new True Living scented candles in a two-pack with a buy-one, get-one 50% off offer.

Tuesday’s promotion will highlight household organization products, with buy-one, get-one free deals on plastics and storage items from the True Living, Fresh Start and Bella kitchen and pantry brands.

Cleaning tools take center stage Wednesday, March 18, when customers can save $10 on either a Mr. Clean Spin Mop or the Clean All Power Scrubber.

Additional home-care deals include 50% off Comfort Bay bath towels, hand towels and washcloths on Thursday, March 19, followed by a buy-one, get-one free promotion on XTRA Tropical Passion laundry detergent on Friday, March 20.

The event concludes Saturday, March 21, with Pro-Strength Liquid-Plumr Clog Destroyer (80 oz.) offered at $7.50.

Reinforcing value positioning

Promotional events such as the 7 Days of Savings campaign play a central role in Dollar General’s merchandising strategy as the retailer works to reinforce its value positioning among budget-conscious shoppers.

Alongside the event, the company highlighted its $1 Value Valley assortment, which offers a range of cleaning products and household essentials priced at $1 or less as part of its everyday value offering.

The retailer also encourages shoppers to sign up for a myDG account, which provides digital coupons, personalized deals and cash-back offers through Dollar General’s website and mobile app.

Digital tools and delivery expand convenience

Dollar General continues to expand its digital ecosystem as part of a broader effort to enhance convenience for customers, particularly in rural and underserved communities where the retailer has a strong presence.

The company’s myDG Delivery service allows customers to order household essentials — including cleaning supplies and paper products — for home delivery through the Dollar General app or website.

To promote the service, the retailer is offering customers one free delivery order when they use a myDG account. Shoppers can also opt for expedited delivery within an hour for an additional $1 fee.

Dollar General has increasingly positioned digital tools, personalized promotions and delivery options as complementary services to its extensive brick-and-mortar network.

A focus on everyday essentials

Founded more than 85 years ago, Dollar General has built its business around providing convenient access to everyday essentials at affordable prices, particularly in smaller communities.

Today the company operates thousands of stores across the United States and continues to expand its assortment of household basics, consumables and private-label brands designed to appeal to value-focused shoppers.

Seasonal promotions such as the 7 Days of Savings cleaning event are part of the company’s broader effort to drive traffic while helping customers manage household budgets.

By combining limited-time promotions with everyday low prices and digital savings tools, Dollar General aims to strengthen its position as a go-to destination for affordable home essentials during key shopping periods such as the spring cleaning season.
