NEW YORK — Dove has teamed up with tennis legend Venus Williams to launch the Dove x Venus #KeepHerConfident Beauty Bar—a limited-edition product meant to help keep girls in sports while boosting their body confidence.

The unique beauty bar, which features a tennis ball-inspired green hue and a passionfruit & lemon balm fragrance selected by Williams herself, is billed as more than just skincare — it's part of a larger mission to empower young female athletes. With "CONFIDENT" engraved into each bar, the message is clear: this is about more than just looking and feeling good—it's about fostering the self-assurance that will keep girls competing in sports despite societal pressures.

“I’m so excited to be collaborating with Dove to continue our mission of keeping the next generations of young women athletes playing the sports they love,” Williams said.

This collaboration is rooted in troubling data. According to Dove’s 2023 research, 45% of girls drop out of sports by age 14—twice the rate of boys—with body confidence being the top reason. In response, the Dove x Venus Beauty Bar launch ties into the Body Confident Sport program, created with Nike, which uses scientifically proven coaching tools to boost body confidence in girls aged 11-17.

The limited-edition beauty bar comes packaged in an eco-friendly canister, with three bars included for the ultimate keepsake. Available exclusively through a giveaway on Dove’s website, beauty and sports fans alike have until September 20 to enter for a chance to win. Dove will not sell this unique product in stores, making it a true collector’s item.

In addition to the launch, Dove is celebrating with initiatives aimed at keeping girls in sports, including partnering with Black Girls Tennis Club to host a body-confidence tennis event in New York City, led by none other than Venus Williams. Dove is also donating over 1,000 sports bras through its partnership with Bras for Girls, addressing the discomfort that often causes young athletes to drop out of sports.

As a bonus for those in the New York City area, Dove has teamed up with Lyft to offer limited-edition beauty bars to passengers who spot one of five wrapped Dove x Venus cars.

"We couldn’t think of a better partner or role model for girls to co-create the #KeepHerConfident Beauty Bar with," said Mele Melero, Chief Growth Officer for Dove Personal Care North America.
