BUENA PARK, Calif. — Dr. Fresh has introduced a product tandem designed to make children’s oral care fun, foolproof and routine: the new FireFly Fluoride Foam Toothpaste and FireFly Ready Go Brush.
The company said Wednesday that unlike traditional toothpaste, FireFly Fluoride Foam Toothpaste is squirted into the mouth rather than onto the toothbrush — a novel format that, for kids, helps take the drudgery and mess out of brushing.

Dr. Fresh noted that the light foamy formula flushes out bacteria and gets hard-to-reach spots — particularly effective for children wearing braces. The foaming whipped cream-like sensation and bubble gum flavor also appeal to kids.
Parents, too, will appreciate not only FireFly Fluoride Foam Toothpaste’s cavity-fighting fluoride formula but also its clean approach, the company added. Since the toothpaste is squirted directly into the mouth, there’s a less of a chance of parents having to deal with spills, leaks and dried-up toothpaste mess on counters and sinks.
Meanwhile, the FireFly Ready Go Brush "times" kids to ensure they brush the dentist-recommended 60 seconds per arch. It sports a flashing light, activated at the touch of a button, that changes from green for "go" to yellow for "halfway there" to red for "finished." The brush also has a suction cup holder that allows it to be stored upright and hygienically, making sure it doesn’t touch other toothbrushes or germs on the bathroom counter.
The brush features soft Dupont Tynex bristles that are effective yet gentle on young gums, as well as a child-friendly ergonomic design.

FireFly Fluoride Foam Toothpaste, recommended for kids ages 3 to 12, comes in a 1.69-ounce pump dispenser bottle and retails for $2.49. It’s available at Walgreens, Target and other drug and mass retailers. The FireFly Ready Go Brushes retail for $3.49 and are sold at Target, Kroger and Meijer stores.
