HYDERABAD, India — Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories has rolled out levalbuterol inhalation solution, a bronchodilator medication.
The company said Wednesday that its levalbuterol inhalation product is a generic version of Xopenex (levalbuterol hydrochloride) from Sunovion Pharmaceuticals Inc.
Dr. Reddy’s product, for use only with a nebulizer, comes in 0.31 mg/3 ml, 0.63 mg/3 ml and 1.25 mg/3 ml unit-dose vials in cartons of 25.
Xopenex inhalation solution branded and generic products had U.S. sales of about $269.7 million for the 12 months ended in June 2014, according to IMS Health data reported by Dr. Reddy’s.
Levalbuterol inhalation solution, which relaxes muscles in the airways and boosts air flow to the lungs, is indicated for the treatment of bronchospasm in people with reversible obstructive airway disease.
