BOCA RATON, Fla. — Diabetica Research Solutions Inc. (DRSI), maker of the DRSI ReStore! Energy formula, has partnered with celebrity chef Charles Mattocks, popularly known as The Poor Chef, who recently was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

The Boca Raton, Fla.-based company said Thursday that Mattocks will be making media and live appearances with ReStore! Energy, including on shows like "Dr. Oz," Fox News and "Oprah," and through his diabetes community web site, newsletters and blogs while he tests recipes for diabetics using the energy formula.

According to DRSI, Mattocks has made a commitment to help people fight diabetes naturally. He stresses the importance of energy for people with diabetes, since fatigue can have an overwhelming negative impact on their lives. The Poor Chef said he is taking ReStore! Energy formula every day and promoting its benefits to his growing fan base. He is also producing a documentary film, The Diabetic You, and DRSI ReStore! Energy is supporting the production.

"Charles Mattocks’ dynamic personality and passion for fighting diabetes and its devastating effects is firing up our own commitment to getting ReStore! into the hands of every diabetic and prediabetic in the U.S.," stated Younis Zubchevich, chief executive officer of DRSI and ReStore! Energy. "Charles will help us show that Restore! can really help diabetics beat fatigue and live an active life."

DRSI ReStore! Energy was developed to help people with diabetes beat chronic fatigue, delivering great-tasting, balanced, long-lasting energy through a unique natural mega-B vitamin complex, the company said. It has no caffeine, sugar or calories and is low in carbs — and causes no energy spikes and crashes typical in many sports drinks, DRSI noted. The product comes in premeasured, single-serving packets that are easy to mix with water or juice.

ReStore! Energy is available in over 17,000 stores — including such chain drug retailers as Rite Aid, Kroger, Duane Reade, Kmart, CVS.com, Ralphs, Winn-Dixie, Giant Eagle, Wegmans, H.E. Butt, The Medicine Shoppe, SaveMart, Hy-Vee and Leader Pharmacies — and DRSI said it’s significantly expanding the product’s national retail distribution this year.
