CLEVELAND — ECRM has launched a series of reports and a blog that examine retail circular advertising.

The new resources are designed to provide a unique perspective on retail promotions from more than 160 retailers in the United States and Canada.

Leveraging ECRM’s trade promotion expertise, the reports and blog entries allow retailers and suppliers to manage more effective trade spending, according to the company.

Promotional Reflections reports examine holiday promotions, key product categories and retail channels. With ECRM’s "Ad Comparisons" database, information is analyzed to offer insights into how retailers advertise brands.

The reports include trends, key findings, share of ads, creative strategies, top categories promoted and retail circular comparisons. Recent reports looked at Halloween, Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

In 2011, ECRM plans to release reports on holiday shopping, health and beauty, and back-to-school.

Meanwhile, ECRM’s weekly blog, dubbed "Circular Logic," highlights trends and news in circular advertising. Tom Pirovano, vice president of industry insights for ECRM, comments on weekly ads across channels, enabling readers to post questions as well as share opinions on the latest trends in advertising.
