CLEVELAND — ECRM has named former Longs Drug Stores marketing manager Cheryl Gherlone as vice president of general merchandise.

Gherlone joined ECRM in June, working on a variety of sales-related projects researching potential new events for the company.

In her new position, which she assumed on October 1, she will work with ECRM vice president of category development Paul Wendling.

ECRM notes that Gherlone’s experience at Longs has provided her with the background for her new post. As marketing manager, she oversaw the drug chain’s efforts in various general merchandise categories, including stationery, electronics, housewares, hardware, automotive accessories, soft goods, and liquor and beverages.

"With such a solid background, Cheryl will be an exceptional complement to ECRM and the GM category," ECRM chief executive officer Charlie Bowlus says. "We look forward to her expertise to lead the advancement of this important category. Her leadership will strengthen our ability to improve existing GM shows and expand show offerings in 2010."
