NEW YORK — TheraBiogen Inc. has entered a national distribution agreement with Food Lion for its TheraMax homeopathic nasal sprays for the relief of cold, flu and allergy symptoms.

Plans call for Food Lion, a subsidiary of Belgium-based Delhaize Group, to carry TheraMax Cold & Flu Relief and TheraMax Allergy Relief in about 1,150 of its supermarkets for the 2011-2012 cold and flu season. The grocery chain’s stores, under the banners Food Lion, Harveys Supermarket, Bloom, Bottom Dollar Food and Reid’s, are located in 11 Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states.

TheraBiogen said the TheraMax products are slated to become available in Food Lion stores by the third quarter.

"This is another big step for TheraBiogen as it continuously expands its TheraMax product availability to consumers," commented Kelly Hickel, chief executive officer of TheraBiogen.

TheraMax is available at such pharmacy retailers as Rite Aid, Walgreens (Miami South District), Hannaford Supermarkets, Discount Drug Mart and Big Y Supermarkets.

Last week, TheraBiogen introduced its third offering, TheraMax Migraine Relief homeopathic nasal spray. The product is due to ship to retailers before the end of the year, the company said.
