Bliss said Baregamian took the reins as CEO effective July 7. Previously, she served as vice president of sales for Boots Retail USA in the global brands division of Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA).
“I’m so pleased to join the talented team at Bliss and share their confidence in Bliss’ continued growth and innovation opportunities,” Baregamian said on a statement. “Bliss has always been a revolutionary brand, pushing the limits of the common conception of a spa. I look forward to working closely with the Bliss team as we focus on building upon the brand’s spa heritage.”
Baregamian brings over 20 years of beauty industry experience to Bliss. Prior to joining WBA, Baregamian was the CEO of North America for Soap & Glory, a leading maker of affordable beauty products, for almost five years before its acquisition by Walgreens Boots Alliance. Bliss noted that she also helped establish the Boscia Skincare brand, solidifying it as a top brand in its category, and has held positions at Stila Cosmetics and Laura Mercier.
“Meri’s deep industry expertise and experience growing top beauty brands will be instrumental in maintaining Bliss’ role as a global leader in spa innovation and service,” commented Leonard Fluxman, CEO of Steiner Leisure Ltd. the parent company of Bliss. “I am confident that Meri is the right person to lead Bliss and look forward to her immediate contributions. I also want to thank Laura Lang, who has done an excellent job as interim president, and who will remain a key part of our company as a member of the Steiner Leisure Board of Directors.”
Baregamian takes over at Bliss from Mike Indursky, who stepped down as president in May to pursue other opportunities.
