POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — Fruth Pharmacy has begun offering a mobile application that executives say makes it easier for customers to manage their health and prescription needs.

The app enables customers to refill prescriptions and receive pickup and dosage reminders through their smartphones.

“A mobile pharmacy solution demonstrates Fruth Pharmacy’s dedication to delivering solutions that help busy families make managing their health convenient,” says Mark Cullen, chief executive officer of mscripts, developer of the app. “The text and mobile application makes it easy to refill prescriptions and keep current on medications, translating into health benefits for everyone.”

In addition, Fruth’s mobile app gives users access to weekly specials. Executives note that later this year Fruth prescription bottles will carry a QR code on their labels, allowing patients to get speedier refills by scanning the code with the mobile app.

“Fruth’s mobile pharmacy solution is a logical extension of our commitment to family care,” president Lynne Fruth says. “Our customers’ mobile phones will make it possible to manage prescriptions for the entire family and access a wide range of our pharmacy services.”

The new app and its mobile website, m.fruthpharmacy.com, operate on a secure network created by San Francisco-based mscripts, she adds.
