Genoa acquires Northeast Pharmaceuticals

Genoa, a QoL Healthcare Company, has acquired long-term care pharmacy provider Northeast Pharmaceuticals Inc. Financial terms of the deal, announced this week, weren’t disclosed. Montgomery, Ala.

TUKWILA, Wash. — Genoa, a QoL Healthcare Company, has acquired long-term care pharmacy provider Northeast Pharmaceuticals Inc.

Financial terms of the deal, announced this week, weren’t disclosed. Montgomery, Ala.-based Northeast Pharmaceuticals operates eight pharmacies in Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi and provides customized pharmacy solutions to more than 150 long-term care facilities in the Southeast.

Genoa provides behavioral health specialty pharmacy services, and each of its pharmacies is located in a behavioral health center, psychiatric clinic or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). With the acquisition of Northeast Pharmaceuticals, Genoa will have more than 260 pharmacies in 37 states and the District of Columbia, providing specialty behavioral health and long-term care pharmacy services to more than 400,000 people annually.

“The addition of NEP to Genoa brings together two providers of specialty behavioral health pharmacy services into one organization committed to a common mission,” John Figueroa, chief executive officer of Genoa, said in a statement. “The combination adds to a company that can truly make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with a mental illness and those that care for them.”
