MAHWAH, N.J. — Glenmark Generics Inc. has begun shipping desoximetasone ointment (0.25%) in the United States.
The pharmaceutical company said Monday that the product is a generic version of Topicort by Taro Pharmaceuticals USA.
Topical desoximetasone is used treat to inflammation and itching from such skin conditions as allergic reactions, eczema and psoriasis.
Desoximetasone ointment had annual sales of about $40 million for the 12 months ended in June, according to IMS Health data cited by Glenmark.
