EAST HANOVER, N.J. — Halls has expanded its product lineup with Halls Extra Strong Menthol Flavor throat drops.
The Mondelez International Inc. cough drop brand said Monday that Halls Extra Strong Menthol Flavor is an "intensely cool" throat drop made with higher menthol levels (15 mg) than its classic flavors (5.8 mg). The new product is designed to provide a boost of cooling flavor as it soothes sore throats.
Now through Dec. 4, consumers can go online to UnlockYourCool.com to find which Halls drop is right for them as well as to enter for a chance to win "a cool prize to help you during the tough winter months," according to Halls.
The company introduced the new throat drop along with findings from a Halls-commissioned survey showing that Americans don’t always take preventive measures during cough/cold season.
According to the poll of 1,000 U.S. adults, conducted by Wakefield Research, 23% of healthy Americans make no effort to stay away from cough and cold sufferers. What’s more, 56% who have a cough or cold are still working out at the gym, using public transportation and shaking hands, and 19% are regularly kissing their significant other.
Other key findings from the national consumer survey include the following 43% of Americans regularly continue to go to work when they have a cough or cold, 55% want to be in a protective bubble of their own during cough or cold season, and 33% say they offer a cough drop when around someone with a cough or cold.
"From our findings, we know that people aren’t practicing good habits. So for those who inevitably fall victim to a cough, Halls can provide temporary soothing relief," stated Farrah Bezner, director of marketing for Halls.
