ARLINGTON, Va. — The Healthcare Distribution Management Association (HDMA) has recognized 10 pharmaceutical and consumer product manufacturers with its Distribution Management Awards for Notable Achievements in Healthcare (DIANA).
HDMA said Tuesday that 2012 DIANA award winners for best new product introduction or product promotion were Amylin Pharmaceuticals for BYDUREON (branded pharmaceuticals category), Actavis for oxymorphone HCl ER tablets (generic pharmaceuticals), Merck Consumer Care for Coppertone Wet ‘n Clear (over-the-counter products), and Broadway Industries for its Seasonal Pharmacy Bags (Rx support systems, supplies and service products).
Winners of DIANAs for best overall manufacturer were Broadway Industries (sales to health care distributors of under $10 million) and Upsher-Smith Laboratories (sales to health care distributors of over $10 million) in the consumer product category; Wockhardt USA (sales to health care distributors of under $100 million) and Actavis (sales to health care distributors of over $100 million) for generic drugs; and Upsher-Smith (sales to health care distributors of under $300 million) and Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals (sales to health care distributors of over $300 million) for branded drugs.
HDMA presented the awards Monday night at the its 2012 Business & Leadership Conference in San Antonio.
"The 2012 DIANA honorees lead the way with their continuing commitment to innovation and collaboration and set the standard for excellence in the health care supply chain,” stated HDMA president and chief executive officer John Gray. "We congratulate them for their achievements in creatively launching new products and fostering strong relationships with HDMA distributor members."
