CINCINNATI — Head & Shoulders has launched a new Scalp Care Collection, expanding the P&G brand’s anti-dandruff portfolio with skincare-inspired shampoos, conditioners and treatments to address oily, dry and itchy scalps.
The collection includes three regimens that Head & Shoulders claims are clinically proven to remove visible flakes at the source and repair the scalp barrier. The products use the brand’s HydraSC+ Complex, formulated with either 1.8% salicylic acid to exfoliate and remove flakes and buildup or 1% zinc pyrithione to target Malassezia, the scalp microbe linked to dandruff.
“This launch marks a bold new chapter for the brand, one that removes dandruff and moves beyond just managing flakes to transforming how hair looks and feels by taking a skincare-inspired approach to common scalp concerns,” said Matt Krehbiel, vice president, Head & Shoulders. “We’re showing people that exceptional hair starts at the scalp through educational content and partnerships with trusted experts and relatable voices in beauty.”
The three regimens are Scalp Soothe with Niacinamide, Scalp Purify with Salicylic Acid, and Scalp Restore with Bio-Ceramides.
Scalp Soothe is designed for itchy scalps and includes a Cooling Shampoo and a Cooling Scalp Spray. The brand says the regimen provides cooling and dandruff-itch relief from the first use.
Scalp Purify targets oily scalps with a Clarifying Pre-Shampoo and a Volumizing Shampoo. Head & Shoulders said the regimen removes up to 99% of flakes, oil, and buildup and can deliver up to five times more volume.
Scalp Restore is designed for dry scalps and includes a sulfate-free Nourishing Shampoo, Nourishing Conditioner, and Nourishing Leave-On Serum. The regimen is designed to restore the scalp barrier and provide a 72-hour moisture lock.
Shampoos and conditioners in the Scalp Care Collection are available now at Walmart with a suggested retail price of $11.99. Treatments and expanded availability at Walmart and other retailers are scheduled for November.
