SPRING HOUSE, Pa. — Hy-Vee, Inc., the 246-store supermarket chain headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa, recently earned multiple Exemplary Provider Award accreditations for its pharmacy operations from The Compliance Team, the Medicare-authorized healthcare accreditation organization based in suburban Philadelphia, Pa.

All of Hy-Vee’s pharmacies earned Exemplary Provider Award recognition and accreditation both in Community Pharmacy and Medicare Part B—DMEPOS (Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, Supplies). Additionally, 15 pharmacies earned accreditation for Patient Centered Pharmacy HomeTM, The Compliance Team’s program for advanced pharmacy practices. Three locations were accredited for TelePharmacy (remote location prescription fulfillment) and one location earned accreditation and Exemplary Provider Award recognition for its Long-Term Care pharmacy operation.

The corporate headquarters of the employee-owned chain as well as its pharmacies, underwent comprehensive on-site evaluations measured against The Compliance Team’s, patient-centered, Safety-Honesty-Caring quality standards that are service specific and focused on day-to-day pharmacy operations. (A score of 90% or better is needed to earn the rights to display the national accrediting body’s Exemplary Provider Award Certificates of Accreditation.)

“We are very excited to have an industry leader, such as HyVee, choose and value The Compliance Team’s Exemplary Provider accreditation for their Quality Validation and as a market differentiator,” stated Sandra Canally, founder and chief executive officer of The Compliance Team.

“Our pharmacy staffs strive every day to provide exceptional patient care,” said Kristin Williams, senior vice president and chief health officer for Hy-Vee. “This third-party validation confirms Hy-Vee’s dedication to health and wellness.”

Hy-Vee’s Exemplary Provider accredited status and rights to display The Compliance Team’s program symbols need to be renewed every three years or sooner as other accreditation tracks are added.
