J&J exec Selman joins Catalina Marketing

Johnson & Johnson executive Renee Selman is joining Catalina Marketing Corp. as president of its Catalina Health Resource health care division.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Johnson & Johnson executive Renee Selman is joining Catalina Marketing Corp. as president of its Catalina Health Resource health care division.

Catalina Marketing said Monday that Selman, who brings 20 years of health care, sales and marketing leadership experience to the marketing and media firm, will be responsible for managing Catalina Health Resource’s strategic direction, day-to-day operations and overall unit performance.

Selman has spent the past five years as the worldwide president of J&J’s Ethicon Women’s Health and Urology business. And during her 20-year career at J&J, she served in such roles as U.S. sales and marketing vice president for the Wound Management Division, national field sales director, and group director of new product development for Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical.

"Renee understands the intricacies of the changing health care landscape, the potential implications to our pharmaceutical partners, our retail partners and, most importantly, the implications to patients," Catalina Marketing chairman and chief executive officer Dick Buell said in a statement. "Additionally, she has demonstrated a talent for strategically aligning organizational objectives with marketplace demands and addressing those demands through inspired business unit performance.

"Her extensive industry expertise, combined with her proven ability to deliver results, makes her the right leader to take Catalina Health Resource to the next level," Buell added.

Catalina Health Resource provides patient-driven educational support and information  to help patients to make better health care decisions, and patient engagement occurs in more than 18,000 U.S. pharmacies with more than 130 million patients annually. Catalina Marketing said Selman will focus on increasing the content relevancy, value and engagement through enhanced analytics and extended patient support.
