NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Frank Maione, U.S. chief customer officer for Johnson & Johnson, plans to retire from the company this fall.

During his 34-year career, Maione made significant contributions to the consumer health care business, according to Jeff Strong, global chief customer officer at J&J.

Maione began his career at Warner Lambert in 1976 as a retail representative in Miami, selling Listerine. He advanced through various roles of increasing responsibility, working in 48 states and more than 15 countries.

After the Pfizer acquisition of Warner Lambert, Maione became vice president of sales for Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. In that role, he led his team to become the No.1 sales organization in the industry in 2005, according to Strong.

Since J&J’s acquisition of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare in 2006, Maione has worked as J&J’s U.S. chief customer officer to integrate six consumer sales organizations into one customer-facing team.

"Frank’s hard work during the past three years has provided a strong foundation upon which we can continue to build," Strong stated. "Over the coming months, Frank will work closely with me, the customer development leadership team and our customers to ensure a seamless transition."
