VARENNES, Quebec — The Jean Coutu Group has launched an online platform that provides customers and their families with a single account from which they can access their health records.
Called the Health Record, the platform is a project of the Jean Coutu network of affiliated pharmacist-owners. Customers can sign up and log in at healthrecord.jeancoutu.com.
“We have been listening to the concerns and needs of users of the former Health Record release, and therefore we created the most comprehensive pharmacists/patients communications tool available on the market,” said Richard Mayrand, senior vice president for pharmacy and governmental affairs at Jean Coutu.
Platform features include the following:
• Patient prescriptions from various health records can be renewed via submission of a single request.
• Pill pack patients can review their health records online and use the records to request prescription renewals for medications that are not included in their pill packs.
• Patients can review fact sheets on medications appearing in their health records.
• Data on blood pressure, glycemia and other conditions pertinent to chart-based consultations are automatically transferred to the in-pharmacy record to help pharmacists and other health care providers administer care.
The company says the platform allows streamlined access to account information yet has a “very high security level.”
