BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Kellogg Co. has introduced new varieties of cookies, crackers, chips and bars for its Cheez-It, Kashi, Keebler, Town House, Pringles, Special K and Nutri-Grain brands.

The company said Thursday that the new Cheez-It Zingz crackers are made with corn masa for a bold crunch and come in chipotle cheddar and queso fundido flavors. Also rolling out a bold new flavor is Pringles, with the fiery sweet barbeque flavor chips.

Meanwhile, the new Town House pita crackers offer real pita taste and are strong enough to dip without breaking, making them good for use with hummus, dips or other toppings. They will be available in Mediterranean herb and sea salt flavors.

For consumers seeking a better-for-you chip, Kashi is launching all-natural hummus crisps made with a blend of chickpeas, whole grains, spices, and herbs, providing 4 grams of fiber and 3 grams of protein. They come in sea salt & olive oil, caramelized onion and sundried tomato basil-feta varieties.

Special K is introducing a new chipotle lime flavor of its popular cracker chips. Each 27 chip serving has 110 calories.

Keebler is also debuting new cookies that reflect the importance of Hispanic consumers. The new Keebler El Duende ("The Elf") cookies will be available in coconut and lemon sandwich flavors.

"Snacking is an important part of peoples’ diets, and consumers are constantly seeking new options," stated Brian Huff, president of Kellogg U.S. Snacks. "We continue to respond with flavors, ingredients and entirely new foods to meet this demand for snacking alternatives."

Keebler, too, is adding a new offering for those seeking something sweet, Kellogg said. Keebler Simply Made cookies are baked with simple ingredients — including wheat flour, butter, eggs, sugar and vanilla — that reflect the desire of some consumers for more basic foods. They will be come in chocolate chip and butter varieties.

New snack bars are also on the way from several Kellogg brands. Special K is adding cookies-and-creme pastry crisps and chocolate-covered strawberry cereal bars, while Nutri-Grain is expanding its granola offerings with crunchy granola bars in chocolate chip and toffee flavors, along with the new Strawberry Greek yogurt cereal bars. Kashi’s new berry/lemonade chewy granola bar provides protein, fiber, whole grains and features chia for ALA Omega 3s and sun-ripened cranberries and lemons.

Kellogg said the new snack products are slated to hit retail store shelves this summer.
