WOONSOCKET, R.I. — Kevin Hourican, executive vice president of retail pharmacy and supply chain at CVS Health, will run the company’s retail division on an interim basis following the departure of Helena Foulkes.

As the interim head of CVS Pharmacy, Hourican will report to CVS Health chief operating officer Jon Roberts, the company said Thursday.
Hourican has had a number of roles at CVS, including senior vice president of the East division of the retail field organization. He joined the company in June 2012 from Macy’s Inc., where he was a senior vice president and Mid-Atlantic regional director of stores.
He also was senior vice president of direct-to-consumer logistics. Before joining Macy’s, he worked for Sears from 1999 through 2006 in a series of increasingly responsible roles in operations.
Foulkes, a 25-year CVS veteran, is joining department store retailer Hudson’s Bay Co., operator of Lord & Taylor and Saks Fifth Avenue, as chief executive officer. Foulkes, who was an executive vice president of CVS Health as well as president of CVS Pharmacy, took over leadership of the retail division on Jan. 1, 2014. She succeeded former Macy’s Inc. president Mark Cosby, who had served as CVS Pharmacy president since October 2011.
CVS said it will conduct an internal and external search for a permanent replacement for Foulkes, who is slated to start at Hudson’s Bay Co. on Feb. 19.
