L’Oreal makes Gwen Stefani its ‘new face’

Rock singer Gwen Stefani has been named as a global brand ambassador by L’Oreal Paris.

PARIS — Rock singer Gwen Stefani has been named as a global brand ambassador by L’Oreal Paris.

The beauty care giant said Friday that Stefani, who’s also renowned for her fashion style as well as being the front woman of the popular rock band No Doubt, has become the brand’s latest international face, joining such other celebrity spokespeople as Jennifer Lopez, Milla Jovovich, Diane Keaton, Beyonce Knowles, Diane Kruger, Evangeline Lilly, Andie MacDowell, Julianna Margulies, Eva Longoria, Freida Pinto and Kerry Washington.

"Gwen is a stunning artist with mesmerizing talent, and we are thrilled to have her on board. She takes beauty to another dimension, somewhere between style and art. A rock star and fashion icon, she’s definitely a modern muse of her time," commented Cyril Chapuy, global brand president of L’Oreal Paris.

A composer, songwriter and singer, Stefani has given a voice to millions of girls across the world, according to L’Oreal. No Doubt has sold more than 30 million albums and has received many Grammy nominations, winning two in 2003.

"I can’t believe I get to be one of the L’Oreal Paris girls. I love playing dress-up, on stage or shooting videos. It’s always been one of my favorite parts of being in a band," Stefani said in a statement. "And to get to work with such a modern, talented group of people is really exciting. I’m a lucky, lucky girl."

In the world of fashion, Stefani is recognized and acclaimed for her unique style, in particular through her two highly successful fashion brands, L.A.M.B. and Harajuku Lovers, the cosmetics company said.

"Gwen’s unique personal style and vivacious spirit, together with her career accomplishments in both fashion and music, makes her an inspiration for women everywhere and an exciting addition to the L’Oreal Paris family," stated Karen Fondu, president of L’Oreal Paris USA.
