WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health has hired Mary Langowski as executive vice president for strategy, policy and market development, effective October 14.
Langowski will focus on identifying and expanding enterprise opportunities as the company seeks an increasingly prominent role in the health care system, CVS says.
Langowski is coming to CVS from DLA Piper, where she was chair of the law firm’s health care policy and regulatory practice. Additionally, she was chief adviser on health policy to former Sen. Tom Daschle, who works at the firm, counseling clients — including drug companies, hospitals, medical schools and venture capitalists — on issues relating to health care reform.
Langowski is a former aide to Sen. Tom Harkin (D., Iowa) and a former policy adviser at the Iowa Department of Public Health. She earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Drake University and a law degree from the University of Iowa.
“I am delighted to join CVS Health,” Langowski says. “As America’s premier pharmacy innovation company, CVS Health stands on the front lines of health care delivery, bringing vital products and services to millions of consumers in virtually every community from coast to coast.”
