PHILADELPHIA — Jeffrey Farber has been appointed vice chairman at Lannett Co.

The generic drug manufacturer and marketer said Tuesday that the 50-year-old Farber has served as a member of Lannett’s board since May 2006. He founded and serves as president of Auburn Pharmaceutical, a national generic pharmaceutical distributor.

Earlier, Farber held a number of senior management roles in sales and purchasing at Major Pharmaceutical before becoming president of the company’s Midwest division. He also served on the board of directors of Vitarine Pharmaceuticals, the manufacturing unit of Major Pharmaceutical.

Last week, Lannett announced that it has named Martin Galvan as chief financial officer, succeeding Keith Ruck, who the company said earlier this month had resigned to pursue other interests.

Galvan joins the generic pharmaceutical maker with more than 25 years of senior financial management expertise in the life sciences industry. Most recently, he was CFO of CardioNet Inc., a medical technology and service company. He previously was executive vice president and CFO of medical technology firm VIASYS Healthcare Inc. and CFO of Rodel Inc., a manufacturing and service company.

Earlier in his career, Galvan served in senior financial management positions with global pharmaceutical companies Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Inc., Revlon Health Care Group and Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.
