Albertsons Cos. reported a sales increase of 1%, to $18.7 billion, during the 16-week fiscal first quarter ended June 16. The company attributed the $193.4 million increase in sales mainly to higher fuel sales (up $154.1 million). Same store sales for the quarter were up 0.2%.
