VANCOUVER, British Columbia — London Drugs is offering software that enables customers to create photo books on their home computers.
The western Canada drug chain said Tuesday that holiday gift-givers can download the London Drugs PhotoLab Home Edition 2 software through its web site to create professional-looking photo books, as well as greeting cards and calendars, on their Macintosh and PC-compatible computers for pickup at a nearby London Drugs store.
The user-friendly software allows customers to select and upload images, create customized themed backgrounds and page layouts, and add special touches with styled, personalized text. They also can simplify the book creation process by selecting the Fast Track option, which lays out an entire photo book within minutes, according to the retailer.
After completing their book, customers send it to a London Drugs PhotoLab from their computer with the click of a button. They will receive e-mail notification when the book is ready for pickup at the selected store location, typically within a week. Customers also can choose to have the photo book shipped to their home.
Book options include photo albums (starting at $34 for 14 pages), hardcover coffee table books (starting at $34.99 for 20 pages) and softcover coffee table books (starting at $9.99 and available in eight to 20 pages).
Other photo gifts include calendars, cards, ornaments, crystals, mouse pads, photo tiles, jewelry boxes, mugs and clothing.
London Drugs has 75 drug stores in more than 35 major Canadian markets throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
