IRVING, Texas — For more than 35 years McKesson’s ideaShare has been the premier education and networking event for community pharmacies. The leading conference is designed to help independent pharmacy owners and their staff improve their knowledge, performance and profitability. This year, McKesson expects more than 1,500 independent pharmacies will come together from July 8-12, 2018 at The Venetian in Las Vegas.
Eligible McKesson ideaShare 2018 attendees are offered a 3% rebate on all McKesson OneStop Generics purchases, up to $20,000, from August 2018 through December 2018. For attendees registering by May 29, 2018, the rebate period will be extended through January 2019. Visit McKessonideaShare.com to learn more about eligibility requirements.
Networking and business development
In addition to this exclusive offer, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and gather recommendations while interacting with McKesson leaders, industry experts and other successful pharmacy owners. They will experience focused learning, interactive exhibits, engaging workshops and meaningful conversations with peers that will drive their power to perform.
“Building on the success of last year’s conference, the number one priority this year is to provide even more networking opportunities to connect customers with industry experts and peers,” said Chris Dimos, president, retail solutions, McKesson Corporation.
Key networking events include the “Lunch and Learn: Getting the Most from Health Mart Atlas” and the second annual Women in Pharmacy – Own It event, featuring Mary LoVerde, “Moving Forward Together Changes the Future for All.” LoVerde is a renowned expert on the practice of work-life balance and offers practical ideas that help the audience stay connected to what’s really important.
“I love that I get to network with my peers at ideaShare and that I get a whole bank full of ideas and programs,” said Pam Marquess of Briarcliff Pharmacy. “Whether business or clinical programs, I come back with more than I can implement.”
Education
With more than 35 continuing education courses, more than 60 workshops and hands-on demonstrations, attendees can develop new strategies to advance their business and provide better patient outcomes.
“McKesson ideaShare will also feature more than 100 educational sessions – with more than one-third led by pharmacists and pharmacy owners – offering attendees best practices to put into action for immediate results,” said Dimos.
Attendees will have the opportunity to uncover new revenue opportunities, such as immunization programs, innovative front-end solutions, specialty programs and more. In addition, attendees will receive training to grow their patient base, providers and services that help grow their business, as well as gain a better understanding of industry updates.
Yvonne Camus, one of the world’s most trusted speakers on teamwork and perseverance, will kick-off the annual conference and inspire attendees on July 9. Camus encourages guests to rethink industry pressures, personal stress and what it means to lead a high-performance life. She parallels many of her experiences to key issues independent pharmacies are facing today.
Doug Rauch, former president of Trader Joe’s, will present his ideas for creating a culture of innovation during the Health Mart Annual Meeting on July 10. Rauch will share how to create a self-sustaining culture of innovation that embraces failure and consistently pushes the envelope.
