SAN FRANCISCO — McKesson Corp. said it has been recognized by Walmart as one of the retail giant’s best-performing suppliers in 2009.
The pharmaceutical and health care products distributor received Walmart’s Health and Wellness Supplier of the Year award, which it said is the retailer’s highest form of recognition.
According to McKesson, the award honors the accomplishments of an elite group of top-performing companies. The distributor said that during the course of 2009, it engaged in multiple projects for Walmart that resulted in operational efficiencies, sustainability improvements and cost savings.
"This prestigious award from Walmart is reflective of the trusted relationship between our two companies and the value McKesson has delivered to Walmart over the years," McKesson Pharmaceutical president John Figueroa said in a statement. "Walmart is one of our most valued customers, and we’re proud to be able to bring our comprehensive supply chain solutions to help them better serve their customers."
