In his new role at McKesson, Chris Dimos (left) will oversee Health Mart. Steve Courtman was Health Mart president for over five years.
SAN FRANCISCO — McKesson Corp. has promoted Chris Dimos to president of retail solutions for McKesson U.S. Pharmaceutical and Specialty Health.
With the move, Dimos will now oversee the Health Mart pharmacy network, taking over from Steve Courtman, who left the company to join health insurer Cigna as senior vice president of Cigna Pharmacy.
In his new role, Dimos is charged with driving the development of McKesson’s U.S. retail effort, including its pharmacy business, which besides Health Mart encompasses Access Health and the McKesson’s consumer packaged goods team.
A pharmacy industry veteran, Dimos joined McKesson in September 2013 as senior vice president of corporate strategy and business development. Last year, he added marketing for the McKesson U.S. Pharmaceutical division to his responsibilities.
Dimos came to McKesson after seven years at Supervalu Inc., where he most recently served as president of Supervalu Pharmacies. Prior to that, he was vice president of pharmacy services at Albertsons from May 2002 to June 2006. He joined Albertsons after 10 years at American Stores Inc., most recently as regional pharmacy manager.
Courtman had served as Health Mart president since joining McKesson in September 2012. He came to the company from pharmacy benefit manager Medco Health Solutions, where he was senior vice president of retail markets and had responsibility for contracting with independent and chain pharmacies and forming pharmacy networks for plan sponsors.
