NEW YORK — McNeil Consumer Healthcare is recalling certain lots of Children’s and Infants’ Tylenol liquid products made over a year ago.

The voluntary recall, announced Thursday, includes various sizes, flavors and formulations of Children’s and Infants’ Tylenol pain relief, cold, allergy, cough and flu products in specific lots manufactured between April 2008 and June 2008.

McNeil said that all of the products in question met internal specifications, but an unused portion of one inactive ingredient didn’t meet all quality standards. So as a precaution, the company decided to recall those lots of products, which were made during that time frame.

McNeil posted a list of the recalled products on the Tylenol web site. The company noted that the recall doesn’t involve Children’s Tylenol Meltaways and Junior Strength Tylenol Meltaways products.
