Medline unveils Curad orthopedic soft goods line

Medline Industries Inc. has rolled out a new hospital-quality orthopedic soft goods line marketed under the Curad brand.

MUNDELEIN, Ill. — Medline Industries Inc. has rolled out a new hospital-quality orthopedic soft goods line marketed under the Curad brand.

The health care supplier said Thursday that the new Curad product line, to be sold through medical equipment dealers and retail stores, includes products to help patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries and accidents, such as wrist splints, thumb braces, back supports, hernia belts, arm slings, and cast and bandage protectors.

As part of the orthopedic line, Medline also is introducing Curad Performance Series products, which the company said are designed to help people — notably active individuals involved in sports or physically demanding occupations — avoid injury. Items include knee, wrist, ankle and elbow supports, along with back supports for safe lifting.

"Injury support and prevention is a growth area, and we’re excited to enter this market with our new orthopedic line that reflects Curad’s long-trusted name as a provider of high-quality health care products," Pete Furlong, president of Medline’s durable medical equipment division, said in a statement. "We’ve developed new vibrant packaging that clearly communicates to the end user the purpose of the product and how to use it, as well as helpful marketing tools for the retailer."

Medline said its dealer marketing program includes brand-building tools such as point-of-sale custom planogram displays; product guides to help the doctor, dealer or retailer reference the appropriate product for a patient’s condition; patient education brochures; prescription pads; and a tape measure.
