MUNDELEIN, Ill. — Medline Industries Inc. has introduced its FitRight line, which the company said represents "entirely new kind of adult incontinence product."

The company said Monday that FitRight reinvents how incontinence products look, feel and perform, helping people with incontinence live with confidence.

According to Medline, FitRight is made with a super-absorbent polymer that absorbs more fluid and makes the user feel dryer longer than a typical brief. The company noted that the product also is the only brief that provides soft antileak guards to reduce leakage.

In addition, FitRight is made with a "4D core with odor protection" that wicks fluid away from the body to provide comfort for the resident, Medline said. The product, too, is designed to be more discreet, with a garment-like fit to help promote greater confidence, mobility and independence, the company added.

"There is nothing more demeaning than when a resident or patient has an incontinence episode and their brief does not perform adequately," stated Dan Love, president of Medline’s personal care division. "With Medline’s FitRight, we have completely redesigned adult incontinence products to fit better, be more absorbent and be more comfortable, to give residents a sense of normalcy and independence."

Medline reported that over 25 million Americans suffer from incontinence, including more than half of all nursing home residents. The company also noted that 13% of the U.S. population is 65 years or older, and by 2030 that number will increase to 72 million, or nearly one in five Americans, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

"FitRight is designed with the individual’s needs in mind," Love added. "It fits better around the legs, absorbs more fluid and keeps the resident dryer for longer periods of time, which leads to greater comfort, confidence and dignity."
