EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Pasta De Lassar Andromaco, a leading diaper rash treatment and skin protectant for decades in Mexico, is making its debut in the United States.

In the U.S., Pasta De Lassar diaper rash treatment will be supported by TV and social media campaigns.

MarcasUSA LLC, which imports Pasta De Lassar from manufacturer Industria Farmaceutica Andromaco, said Friday the brand as expanded its distribution to major U.S. retailers, including Walgreens, Rite Aid, Walmart, Kmart and selected Hispanic stores nationwide.

Pasta De Lassar, which comes in a 60-gram tube, is specifically formulated for a baby’s sensitive skin, and unlike many diaper rash products it contains no added fragrance — a potential chemical skin irritant, according to the company. It also has been used as a multipurpose treatment for minor skin irritations.

"As the brand achieves key distribution milestones, we are deploying television and social media campaigns to support Pasta De Lassar and our retail partners," stated MarcasUSA chief executive officer Richard Phillips.

Plans call for a TV promotion for Pasta De Lassar on Univision as well as a baby photo contest on the brand’s Facebook page, in which three babies can win a cameo appearance in a future TV commercial.

"Our experience shows U.S. Hispanic consumers seek out proven and effective brands from established pharmaceutical manufacturers like Andromaco," Phillips added.
