WOONSOCKET, R.I. – CVS Health announced that MinuteClinic, the medical clinic inside select CVS Pharmacy locations, has opened three new locations in Charlestown, Beverly and Swampscott, to help increase access to health care services for patients in those communities. The Charlestown clinic is the first MinuteClinic in the city of Boston, offering residents convenient, affordable and high-quality care.
"By making care more accessible, we can help patients address health concerns earlier and avoid unnecessary visits to higher-cost settings such as the emergency room," said Tara Allain, FNP-BC, Executive Area Director, MinuteClinic. "These new MinuteClinic locations will help ensure patients in Charlestown, Beverly and Swampscott have convenient access to preventive, wellness and acute care services close to home."
Each MinuteClinic location is staffed by board-certified nurse practitioners who provide a range of preventive and acute care services, including vaccinations, health screenings, routine lab testing and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. Care teams offer wellness services such as physicals and other preventive care, while also diagnosing, treating and prescribing medications for common conditions.
What patients need to know
Care is available to patients 18 months and older, seven days a week, including evenings and weekends. Walk-ins are welcome, making it easier for patients to access care when and where they need it. Most major health insurance is accepted at MinuteClinic, and affordable self-pay options are available.
Each clinic features a digital check-in kiosk, dedicated waiting area and private exam rooms to help ensure patients have a seamless care experience.
- The Charlestown MinuteClinic is located inside the CVS Pharmacy at 21 Austin Street in Charlestown. The clinic is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- The Beverly MinuteClinic is inside the CVS Pharmacy at 19 Dodge Street in Beverly. The clinic is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- The Swampscott MinuteClinic is located inside the CVS Pharmacy at 413 Paradise Road. The clinic is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
