Mirixa, which announced the appointment Tuesday, said Harvey also will serve on the company’s board of directors.
“I am pleased to join Mirixa at this exciting point in the evolution of delivering health care services via pharmacists,” Harvey stated. “New models of care and payment are creating unique opportunities for pharmacists to increase engagement with their patients. The movement toward value and quality-based payment increases the prospects for Mirixa’s services and the benefits we can provide to our health care system.”
Harvey joined Liberty Medical, the nation’s largest provider of diabetes testing supplies, in 2009 as chief marketing officer and later was promoted to president and then to chairman and CEO. Before Liberty Medical, he was president and CEO of several Harte-Hanks subsidiaries before being promoted to corporate officer, with responsibility for all agency, analytics, database and digital Harte-Hanks companies. Earlier in his career, Harvey served in a range of management positions with Roche Pharmaceutical, PCS Healthsystems, Eli Lilly and Revco Drug Stores.
His health care background also includes serving as president of the Quality Diabetes Care Coalition; on the board of the St. Mary Health System in Newtown, Pa.; on the advisory board for Virginia Commonwealth University’s Medical College of Virginia School of Pharmacy; and on the board of the South Florida American Diabetes Association.
“The Mirixa board is pleased to have Frank on board leading Mirixa during this exciting time in pharmacy, as opportunities to provide pharmacy-based services continue to grow,” commented Mirixa board member B. Douglas Hoey, CEO of the National Community Pharmacists Association, the founder of Mirixa. “Frank’s background in the health care industry, plus his experience leading a variety of enterprises, are assets that will help propel Mirixa to continue realizing the company’s vision of unlocking the power of pharmacy.”
Mirixa’s solutions enable the health care providers to deliver care via retail pharmacies. Pharmacists use the MirixaPro web-based clinical platform to deliver a range of standardized patient care services, including MTM. The company is a leading provider of MTM services to health plans and pharmacy benefit managers.
