PURCHASE, N.Y. — Responding to consumer requests, Mountain Dew has relaunched a trio of its classic flavors for a limited time this summer.

The PepsiCo soft drink brand said Tuesday that it has brought back its Mountain Dew Pitch Black, Mountain Dew Supernova and Mountain Dew Typhoon as part of the "Back by Popular DEWmand" campaign.

According to the company, Mountain Dew Pitch Black and Mountain Dew Supernova will be sold nationwide, and Mountain Dew Typhoon will be exclusively available in two-liter containers at Walmart Supercenters.

The program also asks fans to continue to demonstrate their passion for Dew by sharing photos and videos and participating in Facebook groups focused on their favorite Dew flavors.

"Back by Popular DEWmand was created to celebrate our incredible fans by rewarding them with the return of some of their favorite Dew flavors," stated Brett O’Brien, senior director of marketing for Mountain Dew.

Mountain Dew also has kicked off the Loot for Labels program, a mail-in promotion that rewards consumers who send in Dew labels with flavor-themed gear. Each time fans redeem labels for gear, they will be entered to win the grand prize: a year’s supply of Mountain Dew, according to PepsiCo.

In addition to original citrus-flavored Mountain Dew, the beverage line includes Diet Mountain Dew, Mountain Dew Code Red, Mountain Dew Live Wire, Mountain Dew Voltage and Mountain Dew White Out.
