ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The lineup of speakers for the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Annual Meeting, already highlighted by former president George W. Bush, has been extended to include election analyst and University of Virginia professor Larry Sabato.
The meeting will be held April 21 through April 24 in Palm Beach, Fla.

The Wall Street Journal has described Sabato as “probably the most quoted college professor in the land,” and Washington politics newspaper Politico calls him “the master of the horse race. His knowledge of the landscape of American politics is unquestioned.”

With the presidential and congressional races intensifying, Sabato is a fitting choice, NACDS president and chief executive Steve Anderson says.

“Larry’s astute election forecasting and political analyses are second to none,” he says. “We look forward to hearing his insights and predictions for the upcoming political season.”

Sabato is the founder and head of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics in Charlottesville and is the author of more than 20 books and numerous essays on politics. He also spearheads “Sabato’s Crystal Ball,” a website providing detailed and updated analysis for elections nationwide. He has received multiple awards and accolades, including the university’s highest honor, the Thomas Jefferson Award, and has been a guest scholar at the Brookings Institution, Oxford University and Cambridge University.

He has also served on many national and state commissions, including the National Commission for the Renewal of American Democracy and the Senate Campaign Finance Reform Panel.
