ARLINGTON, Va. – 2019 NACDS Total Store Expo (NACDS TSE) attendees will hear from former Secretary of State and five-term U.S. Senator John Kerry at the always-anticipated Sunday Business Program. In his more than three decades of public service, Kerry has earned respect around the globe. He also is one of the most iconic political figures from Massachusetts, which will host the NACDS TSE this year.

Kerry will speak on Sunday, August 25. The NACDS TSE will run from August 24 to 26 in Boston.

“Secretary Kerry has led, and has seen our nation’s foreign policy play out, in his roles as the nation’s top ambassador, as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and as a decorated war veteran. He will bring to the NACDS Total Store Expo his world-renowned voice on some of the most significant issues shaping America’s future at home and abroad,” said NACDS president and chief executive officer Steven Anderson.

“From event-to-event and from year-to-year, NACDS’ conference programming presents a truly bipartisan and all-encompassing perspective. Attendees always tell us that they find parallels between our speakers’ messages and their daily work, and that they also appreciate the opportunity to think about big-picture issues that are important to all of us as citizens of our communities, our nation, and the world.”

Kerry served as Secretary of State during President Barack Obama’s second term, from February 2013 to January 2017. Kerry was serving his fifth term in the U.S. Senate when nominated for Secretary of State.

As a U.S. Senator, Kerry’s leadership posts included the chairmanships of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and of the Senate Small Business Committee. Kerry won election to his first Senate term in the election of 1984. Immediately prior, he served as Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts.

Kerry is the best-selling author of A Call to Service: My Vision for a Better America and This Moment on Earth, and in 2018 he released his first memoir, Every Day is Extra.

Currently, Kerry is a Distinguished Fellow for Global Affairs at Yale University and the inaugural Visiting Distinguished Statesman for the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

In addition to the Business Program, the NACDS Total Store Expo will feature a vibrant educational component that includes topics of relevance to the pharmacy, to consumer goods, and to the entire supply chain.
