WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS/pharmacy has launched what it calls Nail HQ.

The in-store kiosks showcase the hottest nail care trends and product innovations and are being offered in more than 2,000 of the drug chain’s stores.

“With nail care sales booming, it’s clear that customers are looking to CVS to find the latest innovation that the category has to offer,” vice president of beauty Cheryl Mahoney says. “With the launch of the CVS/pharmacy Nail HQ, we are able to feature a wide variety of the best new nail trends and technologies that she can experience in our stores and then apply for herself at home — all with the added convenience of shopping at her local CVS/pharmacy.”

Nail care sales have increased by 40% since 2011, she says, and have grown by double digits each year since 2008, making this the ideal time for CVS to intensify its efforts in the category.

Some of the products found in Nail HQ include at-home gel nail kits and an array of new shade options that allow shoppers to view polish shades outside of the bottles through nail color strip displays.

A 32-SKU nail lacquer line from CVS’ exclusive brand Nuance Salma Hayek will also be part of the new concept, and the nail brand essie will launch its newest collections at the Nail HQ every month.

“We are thrilled to partner with CVS/pharmacy on this amazing collaboration,” founder and global director Essie Weingarten says. “It’s very exciting to see the nail category take its well-deserved center stage across the country.”
