ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The National Community Pharmacists Association Foundation has announced its planned activities during the NCPA 2018 Annual Convention in Boston, Mass. on Oct. 6-9.
The Foundation’s booth in the NCPA exhibit hall will offer attendees the opportunity to learn about Foundation programs: Dispose My Meds, a national medication disposal program; disaster relief grants, which help pharmacies recover after a natural disaster; and the Foundation’s partnership with DKMS, the world’s largest and most experienced bone marrow donor center.
The Foundation will once again present several awards and scholarships at the annual convention, including the John W. Dargavel Medal during the second general session on Monday, Oct. 8. During its annual awards ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 7, the foundation will present the following: NCPA National Preceptor of the Year Award, NCPA Faculty Liaison Excellence Award, NCPA Student Chapter of the Year Awards, NARD Ownership Award, Neil Pruitt Sr. Memorial Scholarship, Willard B. Simmons Sr. Memorial Scholarship, Partners in Pharmacy Scholarships, and the Presidential Scholarships for students, sponsored by McKesson Foundation.
The Foundation will also be assisting with the 15th annual Good Neighbor Pharmacy NCPA Pruitt-Schutte Student Business Plan Competition. This event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 6, and will feature NCPA student chapter teams competing for the best formulated business plan.
