DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — Aetna Better Health of Illinois, a CVS Health company, has introduced the Aetna Medicaid 360 app, a new digital tool designed to streamline access to health and food benefits. The app is the first of its kind from a Managed Care Organization in Illinois to integrate Medicaid services with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in a single platform.
Initially piloted with members in the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, the Aetna Medicaid 360 app is available in both English and Spanish, offering a range of features for behavioral, reproductive, and general health care. It also enables members to view and manage their food assistance balances in real time, alongside their health benefits, without leaving the application.
“At Aetna Better Health of Illinois, we’re dedicated to transforming member engagement by leveraging technology to enhance access to essential resources,” said Kim Foltz, Central Division President, Aetna. “With statistics showing that nearly 80% of patients now prefer using digital tools for health care management, the Aetna Medicaid 360 app will empower our members to effortlessly manage their SNAP benefits through a digital wallet. This innovative approach not only simplifies the Medicaid experience but also encourages proactive engagement in health and well-being, enabling our members to make informed choices in real-time.”
The app also uses chatbot technology to connect members with their benefits and health rewards, providing 24/7 access from any mobile device. It was piloted on July 1, 2025, with SNAP benefit integration added this fall.
