DENVER — The National Association of Chain Drug Stores has unveiled an interactive educational resource for this year’s NACDS Marketplace Conference.
In partnership with Inmar, a technology solutions company and associate member of NACDS, the trade group has launched the NACDS Marketplace Digital Learning Center to help retailers and suppliers gain an understanding of the importance of developing and implementing a cohesive digital strategy.
It is the first time an educational resource has been made available on the exhibit floor at Marketplace.
The Digital Learning Center, which is located just inside the exhibit hall floor by the New Product Showcase, offers attendees interactive demonstrations of how mobile Web promotions and social media can be used to enhance business.
The demonstrations depict three scenarios that show, first, how a consumer can use social media applications and mobile Web promotions to get discounts or other incentives from a certain retailer or for a specific product. The second scenario shows how social media and mobile promotions can be used in stores, and the third explores ways retailers and suppliers can collaborate and measure the success of such promotions.
Seminars also have been scheduled in the Digital Learning Center to build awareness of trends in digital promotions. Along with industry partners, Inmar is presenting insights on how to engage digital shoppers and use technology to foster collaboration with brands. Mobile and digital experts are available for private meetings with retailers and suppliers.
“The Digital Learning Center brings an exciting new addition to the exhibit hall’s impressive array of products and services that contribute to business effectiveness and to meeting consumers’ needs,” says NACDS president and chief executive officer Steve Anderson. “It also previews the innovative approach to trade show management that NACDS will apply to the 2013 debut of the NACDS Total Store Expo.”
