PLAINSBORO, N.J. and BAGSVÆRD, Denmark — Novo Nordisk is set to spotlight the next phase of the obesity and diabetes treatment race at the upcoming American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions with a major slate of new clinical data spanning its fast-growing cardiometabolic pipeline.
The company announced Wednesday that it will present 40 abstracts at ADA 2026 in New Orleans, June 5–8, including pivotal phase 3 results for investigational therapy CagriSema and new mid-stage findings for injectable zenagamtide, two closely watched candidates in the rapidly evolving GLP-1 and amylin treatment landscape.
At the center of the presentations are the phase 3 REIMAGINE 1–3 trials evaluating CagriSema, a fixed-dose combination of an amylin receptor agonist and GLP-1 receptor agonist designed to target both blood sugar control and weight loss in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Novo Nordisk will also unveil phase 2 data for investigational once-weekly injectable zenagamtide, a novel GLP-1/amylin-based therapy that represents part of the company’s push to build the next generation of obesity treatments beyond semaglutide.
New data tied to blockbuster semaglutide brands Ozempic and Wegovy will also be featured, adding to growing evidence supporting semaglutide’s broader cardiometabolic impact.
“The ADA’s 2026 Scientific Sessions underscores the breadth and strength of our approach to cardiometabolic diseases. From amylin-based pipeline candidates to continued expansion of our portfolio, we are building on the established and unique profile of semaglutide,” said Martin Lange. “As pioneers in this space, we remain focused on advancing innovation that can meaningfully improve the lives of millions living with serious chronic diseases.”
The presentations come as competition intensifies among drugmakers racing to develop more effective therapies for obesity and diabetes with improved weight-loss outcomes, metabolic benefits and long-term cardiovascular potential.
Novo Nordisk will also host an R&D investor event on June 7 focused on the science and data presented during the conference, underscoring the strategic importance of the company’s expanding cardiometabolic pipeline.
