TORONTO — The Ontario Pharmacists Association (OPA), a leading advocacy and professional development organization for thousands of pharmacy professionals throughout the province, is pleased to announce the appointment of Hitesh Pandya as the new chair of its board of directors.

Effective at the OPA Annual General Meeting held May 11, 2023, Hitesh is serving a two-year term and succeeds Past Chair Tim Brady, who served with distinction in this role over the past two years and led the Association to multiple milestones. Hitesh has been actively involved with the Board since 2021, most recently serving as Vice-Chair.
As chair of the board, Hitesh will play a crucial role in leading OPA’s strategic direction and advancing the interests of pharmacy professionals across Ontario. A respected, accomplished pharmacist, Hitesh is a proven leader in the industry with over two decades of experience. His comprehensive understanding of pharmacy operations, clinical services, and regulatory compliance will provide leadership to the Board as OPA advances the profession through advocacy and innovation.
Ontario Pharmacists Association CEO Justin Bates expressed his confidence in Hitesh’s leadership, stating, “We are delighted to welcome Hitesh as the new chair of the board of directors. Hitesh holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of British Columbia and is a licensed pharmacist in Ontario. He has dedicated his career to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and advancing pharmacy practice to enhance patient outcomes. Hitesh’s vision and proven leadership skills will contribute to OPA’s ongoing efforts to position pharmacy professionals as essential healthcare providers within the broader healthcare system.
