DURHAM, N.C. — Parata Systems will be the exclusive presenting sponsor of the 2012 Independent Pharmacy Business Growth Conference next month in Orlando, Fla.

The event, hosted by Pharmacy Development Services (PDS), is being held Feb. 23 to 25. Parata said Thursday it’s the first-ever presenting sponsor for the conference, now in its eighth year.

"Parata automation delivers the one thing pharmacists need most — time. So it was natural synergy to align with PDS, a group that is doing ground-breaking work to help pharmacists define how to leverage their time and resources to meet their service and growth goals," stated Parata Systems chief executive officer Tom Rhoads, who will address attendees at the conference’s opening ceremony.

Palm Springs, Fla.-based PDS is a consulting services company that specializes in helping community pharmacies sharpen their business operations via education, coaching, mentoring and innovation. Each year, PDS hosts the three-day Independent Pharmacy Business Growth Conference for pharmacy owners looking to gain more control of their businesses by driving effective growth strategies.

"PDS is pleased to have an innovative company like Parata Systems present our annual Growth Conference," commented PDS CEO and founder Dan Benamoz. "As CEOs, top salespersons and clinicians, pharmacists cannot drive a growth strategy until they free time and energy to do so. Automation like Parata’s offers a proven solution."

Parata’s presenting sponsorship will highlight how next-generation automation can minimize pharmacist time in dispensing, empowering entrepreneurial pharmacies to maximize opportunities for growth. The company noted that its strategic deployment of pharmacy automation technology creates the added capacity to expand operations in a finite footprint without adding staff, while improving safety and accuracy over manual processes.
