FORT WORTH, Texas — Pharmacy technology providers PDX and mscripts have launched an integrated solution that enables PDX Pharmacy System users to connect with patients through a variety of mobile communication pathways using the mscripts platform.
Fort Worth, Texas-based PDX provides pharmacy management software and services to more than 10,000 retail pharmacies in the United States, while mscripts allows pharmacy patients to manage their prescriptions and pharmacy relationship via mobile phones. The companies said that by joining forces, they’re offering their pharmacy system users the only commercially available, integrated mobile communications platform for managing prescriptions.
Available now, the new solution is completely integrated with the PDX Pharmacy System, enabling PDX Pharmacy System users to make these services available to their patients on their mobile devices.
"This relationship allows PDX pharmacy system users to deploy the best mobile pharmacy service available, quickly, and with minimal costs," Mark Cullen, chief executive officer of San Francisco-based mscripts, said in a statement. "The offering provides an innovative way for patients to communicate with their pharmacies through two-way, interactive SMS messaging and full-featured, branded mobile applications supporting a wide range of phones, including iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Mobile and Palm. For patients, the service results in faster and easier prescription refills, better adherence, less time waiting, increased convenience and a closer relationship with their pharmacy."
Later this month, PDX and mscripts plan to provide further information and education to customers through webinars to further promote their relationship and the new mobile functionality.
"PDX remains focused on delivering solutions and services our pharmacy partners require to remain competitive. We are committed to providing them with innovative technology that enables them to manage their pharmacy business effectively and profitably," commented Jeff Farris, PDX CEO and president. "By partnering with mscripts, we are able to expand our offerings and provide our customers with an increasingly widespread means of transacting business with their patients and providing them with greater accessibility to their prescription information through text messaging and mobile applications."
