TARRYTOWN, N.Y. — PediaCare has introduced Smooth Melts chewable, flavored fever relief tablets for children.

Parent company Prestige Brands Holdings Inc. said PediaCare Smooth Melts are designed to make it easier for parents and caregivers to get kids to take the medication.
The children’s acetaminophen tablets have a sweet cherry flavor and are prescored, so parents simply determine proper dosage by reviewing the dosing chart on the package. And with the product’s convenient bottle, any extra half-tablets can be stored easily.
Coming up with a taste appealing to kids was key to the creation of PediaCare Smooth Melts, since children’s taste buds are known for having higher sensitivity to often bitter-tasting medicines, the company noted.
"We continue to work tirelessly to improve our product portfolio by sourcing the best-tasting ingredients we can find and investigating unique forms and flavors," stated Mark Warrington, scientist and director of product development.
PediaCare Smooth Melts are currently available at Rite Aid drug stores nationwide and on Amazon.com. Each bottle contains 24 chewable tablets.
