ALLEGAN, Mich. — Perrigo Co. has begun shipping Loratadine-D 12-hour extended-release tablets for allergies.
The company said Tuesday that its product is the store-brand equivalent to Schering-Plough’s Claritin-D 12-hour extended release tablets.
"This launch is another milestone for our Consumer Healthcare segment, which is expected to launch many important, new store-brand products during this fiscal year," commented Perrigo chairman and chief executive officer Joseph Papa. "We are excited to bring this important store-brand medication to consumers for the first time and continue our focus on making quality health care more affordable."
Claritin-D 12 is indicated for the treatment of nasal allergy symptoms. Its estimated annual sales are about $111 million, according to Wolters Kluwer data cited by Perrigo.
