DUBLIN, Ohio — Pete Bennett, SVP of global operations for Cardinal Health’s Global Medical Products and Distribution (GMPD) business, was named the 2026 Supply Chain Executive of the Year during the September Digital Supply Chain Transformation Assembly hosted by The Millenium Alliance.

The Millenium Alliance is an executive leadership and business transformation organization connecting senior executives from many of the world’s largest companies through industry-specific assemblies, research and peer-to-peer learning. Bennett was nominated alongside other Fortune 100 supply chain executives.
In his current role, Bennett is responsible for North American medical product distribution, global manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, operations transformation and network design and optimization for more than 75 sites around the world. His work spans Cardinal Health Brand and national brand products.
In collaboration with teams across GMPD, Bennett’s organization is driving a multi-year transformation journey grounded in resiliency, transparency and customer-centricity. Under his leadership, the business has advanced a hub-and-spoke distribution network to improve flexibility, service levels, inventory visibility and business continuity. He has also led the adoption of advanced supply chain technologies including robotics, radio frequency identification (RFID) solutions, modern warehouse management systems and AI-powered planning tools to improve operational efficiency, forecasting accuracy and disruption response capabilities.

With an emphasis on continuous improvement, customer collaboration and active industry engagement spearheaded by Bennett, Cardinal Health recently earned industry recognition for supply chain resiliency from the Healthcare Industry Resilience Collaborative (HIRC) and for network innovation and agility from Kinaxis®, a global leader in modern supply chain planning and orchestration collaboration.
In addition to his career in the medical products industry, Bennett served 25 years in the U.S. Army, including active-duty and Reserve leadership roles in operations and logistics. A veteran of two combat deployments, Bennett retired in 2026 after a distinguished military career, earning numerous awards and decorations, including the Bronze Star Medal and Meritorious Service Medal. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and Central Michigan University.
